Cozy Mystery Book Reviews

With news, interviews, giveaways, and reviews, the Cozy Mystery Book Reviews is an active site for fans of mysteries, and in particular, the cozy subgenre.

The Cozy Mystery Book Reviews blog boasts ten full-time reviewers (and six guest ones) and nearly 2,000 fans, making them one of the most active cozy mystery sites.  They’re hosted through WordPress and have been around since March 2011.  I first learned about this Canada-based site in the December 2012 edition of the Library Journal.

Each reviews features a publisher’s summary followed by the site’s review.  The only drawback for some might be the lack of categorization for posts–if, for example, you were looking for craft-themed versus cooking-themed cozies

One feature of the site is Backlist Book Tuesday.  “Our chance to shine the light on the backlists of cozy mystery series,” the site explains.  Not only to they read a sample book by an author, they also try to snag an interview with them as well.

I also like that the site’s bloggers have challenged themselves to read all of Agatha Christie’s short stories in 2013.  A worthy endeavor and one to watch.  (There’s over 130 of them!)

Settle in a comfy chair with tea and scones on the side table and visit this blog, which has also been added to my blogroll below.

UPDATE:  As of 2/25/2014, while in the process of updating and reviewing links, I’ve discovered that this site has disappeared and appears to be no more.  A shame too, as I was quite enjoying the Christie related reviews.
